Have you heard of CBD? Short of cannabidiol, it’s one of the main compounds found in the cannabis plant. It’s THC’s more chill counterpart, if you will. Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it won’t get you high. What it can do, on the other hand, is kind of amazing. CBD is revered for its potential therapeutic effects. People who use CBD report that it imparts a feeling of calm and can be used to manage symptoms of anxiety. It can also manage pain, reduce inflammation, and may even benefit heart health. CBD is kind of amazing!
If you’ve spent any time exploring the world of CBD, you’ve probably discovered that there are a lot of ways to consume it. CBD can be eaten, smoked, or applied topically. You can find CBD salves, CBD vaporizer pens, CBD candies, and so much more. But here at Tipsy Diaries, we’re all about one thing: drinking (responsibly)! That’s why our favorite way to consume CBD is in a classy and delicious cocktail. At your next happy hour, why not impress your friends with an added dose of chill? Here are our 3 favorite CBD cocktail recipes that will impress even the pickiest of your friends!

Yummy Gummy Bear Martini
We’re never too old to enjoy the sweet things in life. Satisfy your whole crew’s sweet tooth with this CBD-infused twist on the iconic Gummy Bear Martini. The addition of CBD to this fruity drink brings a care-free feeling that will take you right back to your childhood. A lower dose of CBD tincture helps balance the addition of the CBD gummy. Be sure to use classic martini glasses to elevate this candy-sweet cocktail!
1 oz peach schnapps
1.5 oz raspberry vodka
1 oz cranberry juice
15 mg CBD tincture
CBD gummy to garnish
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add peach schnapps, raspberry vodka, cranberry juice, and CBD tincture. Shake (don’t stir) vigorously! Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with high-quality CBD gummies by CBDfx to bring you even more chill!
Not Your Grandpa’s Old Fashioned
Is there a classic quite like the Old Fashioned? Perhaps one of the most distinguished cocktails, an Old Fashioned tells everyone around you that, when it comes to cocktails, you don’t mess around. While the Old Fashioned may conjure images of the 1960’s, this drink has been around for far longer. The earliest recipe for an Old Fashioned dates back to an 1862 cocktail book called Jerry Thomas’ Bartenders Guide: How to Mix Drinks. That’s nearly a decade before the Don Draper era!
Our version of the Old Fashioned is a lot more relaxed, like if Don Draper traded his suit in for a t-shirt and jeans and just chilled out.
2 oz bourbon
2 dashes Angostura bitters (no substitutes!)
1 sugar cube
30 mg CBD tincture
Orange peel for garnish
Add the sugar cube and Angostura bitters to a cocktail glass and muddle. Pour in bourbon and add CBD tincture. Add ice and stir. Finish with orange peel.
Hair of the CBDog Bloody Mary
At Tipsy Diaries, we’re no stranger to the morning after a night of indulgence. A few Tylenol and a little hair of the dog can sometimes do the trick, but the perfect CBD cocktail may do a lot more than an over-the-counter painkiller. Turns out, CBD has been shown not only to reduce pain and inflammation (re: your pounding headache), but can also help with that killer nausea you’re feeling, as well. That’s why we swear by the Hair of the CBDog Bloody Mary. CBD joins forces with a good tomato base, to settle the stomach, and a healthy dose of salt, to replace lost electrolytes. Here’s how to make it:
¾ cup of tomato-vegetable juice
1.5 oz vodka
3 dashes Worcestershire
25 mg CBD tincture
Pinch of salt and pepper
Your favorite hot sauce to taste
Celery and green olives to garnish
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the tomato juice, vodka, Worcestershire, CBD tincture, hot sauce, and salt and pepper. Shake well. Strain into your glass. Garnish with celery and green olives. (P.S. If your morning’s too rough to fathom mixing your own Bloody Mary, simply add vodka and CBD tincture to your favorite store-bought Bloody Mary mix. We’ll never tell!)
