New York – On Tuesday night, Moët & Chandon – the champagne of success and glamour since 1743 – hosted its 270th Anniversary with Roger Federer, international tennis champion and Moët & Chandon Global Brand Ambassador, at Chelsea Piers in New York City. While Roger Federer was the guest of honor – leading a celebratory toast during the party to 270 years of iconic celebrations with Moët & Chandon – all attention immediately turned to legendary VOGUE Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour, who arrived by helicopter from Long Island with Charlie Shaffer, Luke Wintour, Ellie Wintour, Klara Zak and Liz Cordry. Anna smiled as she walked into the party and rushed to find Federer, a longtime friend, on the red carpet, exclaiming, “It’s good to see you” with a double kiss on the cheek. Federer – ever the dashing host, gushed upon Anna’s arrival as they both cozied up on the red carpet for photos. One guest exclaimed, “We have never seen her smile so much!” After Anna introduced Federer to her family who were in toe, they disappeared into the party together.
With DJ Bob Sinclair on the turntables, guests enjoyed signature ‘golden goblets’ of Moët Impérial and buzzed about the man of the hour, Roger Federer. VIPs included actress 30 Rock Actress Katrina Bowden, actors Jeffrey Wright, Josh Lucas and Anthony Mackie, supermodel Carol Alt, former Real Housewife, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Gossip Girl Kelly Rutherford, music artist Fabolous, models Andrej Pejic and muse Leigh Lezark, designer Christian Siriano, as well as Kardashian pal Jonathan Cheban, who dished about the newest Kardashian clan member, North West, on the carpet. Katrina Bowden – who attended with her husband – dished about her upcoming honeymoon to Hawaii, saying that she and her husband had never been to the romatic destination and were very excited to celebrate their recent marriage this past May. A partygoer who overheard jumped in and said, “Go to the Maldives!” Actress, Kelly Rutherford, took it upon herself to start her own party on the dance floor, spinning around in circles – and kissing – a new male suitor, just like a scene straight out of Gossip Girl.
Roger Federer made his grand entrance into the event and toasted to Moët & Chandon’s 270th Anniversary – as well as his new campaign a Moët & Chandon Global Brand Ambassador shot by legendary photographer, Patrick Demarchelier – by saying, “If we all drink a glass of Moët every day, we might all get to 270 years!”
As guests raised their glasses, pop sensation, Emeli Sandé, performed her hit song, “Next To Me,” as actor Josh Lucas – looking dapper in a gray suit – rushed to the front of the crowd to take pictures on his cell phone. Josh avoided the VIP area, preferring to mix in with the crowd and dance to Emeli’s performance. Kelly Bensimon – who was the only person at the party who opted for flats rather than Louboutins – was spotted earlier than expected outside of the venue by herself with a golden goblet of Moët – which she called the “ultimate roady” – twirling her hair and smiling as she texted on her phone. Josh Lucas and Jeffrey Wright were also spotted leaving together for dinner at Ken & Cook, where they were overheard raving about Bob Sinclair’s music.
