Cannes – Last week, Nicole Kidman, Carey Mulligan, Rooney Mara, Naomie Harris and Lynne Ramsay along with The IFP, Calvin Klein Collection, & Euphoria Calvin Klein, celebrated Women In Film at the 66th Cannes Film Festival.
Red-carpet stunner Carey Mulligan was spotted looking ever-so-chic clad in a little black dress despite the cold and dreary weather that descended on the festival. The starlet was the center of attention at the party and was overheard saying that she was honored to be chosen for the role of Daisy in The Great Gatsby, which has been a roaring success at the box office. Apparently Mulligan has been a longtime fan of both Leonardo DiCaprio and Baz Luhrman, and would not stop gushing about how getting a chance to work with the duo was “a dream come true.” Later in the night the actress showed off her noble side – when asked who inspires her, the beauty replied “my friends and those who help others.”
The always stunning Nicole Kidman arrived in a sultry leather dress designed by the Calvin Klein Collection. As an actress who’s known to keep her composure, Kidman was busy “laughing and chatting with bystanders”, according to partygoers. ‘She was loving the attention and posing for the camera’, spies revealed. Later, when she spotted fellow attendee Carey Mulligan, the two instantly hugged and began chatting about their Cannes experience so far. The two leading ladies have always been friendly and according to attendees, seemed genuinely happy for one another.
Riding high on the praise from her Met Gala ensemble, trendsetting actress Rooney Mara showed up looking extremely fashion forward in her Calvin Klein Collection gown. Rooney was one of the honorees of the night as the fashion house was holding the soiree as a celebration of women who have made an impact in film. Upon entering the party, the actress was seen grabbing a glass of champagne and making a beeline towards Hollywood powerhouse Harvey Weinstein. The duo were overheard chatting about upcoming film projects and were later joined by one of the evening’s other honorees, Naomie Harris. The Skyfall actress was seen throughout the night canoodling with her mystery man who mentioned to a group that “he is her biggest fan.” No surprise considering the buzz surrounding her upcoming role in Long Walk To Freedom where she will play Winnie Mandela, the wife of famed political activist Nelson Mandela.
