Warren, NJ – On the heels of a partnership with Uber in the New York/New Jersey area, Devotion Vodka, the world’s first gluten-free, sugar-free and 100% Made in the USA flavored vodka, today announced an expanded corporate responsibility program, Devoted to Drinking Responsibly. As part of the new program Devotion Vodka and Uber have teamed-up in a nationwide campaign, offering first-time riders with one free trip, (up to a $30 value), in an effort to promote a safe and reliable ride home after a night out.
By downloading the mobile app on a smartphone, the Uber car sharing service provides consumers with on-demand transportation in real-time. During the summer months, consumers can visit www.Devotionvodka.com for a special promotional code, so first-time Uber riders can enjoy the evening, knowing they will have a safe and convenient ride home.
Uber offers a fleet of for-hire vehicles and seamlessly connects riders (individual and groups) with drivers via a turnkey mobile application. Customers can book rides with a few clicks on their smart phone, and a GPS-equipped vehicle will be at their service in minutes. In fact, once a ride is requested via Uber’s smartphone app, the software will display the car’s location on a map and the customers will know exactly when the Uber driver will arrive.
“Teaming up with Uber and expanding our efforts to new markets reinforces our commitment to promote responsible drinking, while endorsing safe rides home” said Drew Adelman, CEO, Devotion Vodka. “The Devoted to Drinking Responsibly campaign will be a theme as Devotion Vodka continues expands distribution nationwide.”
In related news, MADD and Uber recently collaborated to produce a report revealing that in California, drunk-driving crashes fell 6.5% among drivers under 30 in the markets where Uber operates. That represents potentially 60 fewer drunk driving crashes each month — a total of 1,800 crashes avoided — since July 2012. This comes on the heels of reports citing a decrease in DUI arrests in markets such as Philadelphia (11 percent) and Seattle (10 percent) where Uber has a strong presence. While this data is not directly attributed to Uber, it’s a positive sign that supports the growing trend of car sharing services such as Uber, having an impact on consumers making smarter transportation decisions, and keeping the roads safer.
“It’s gratifying to align Devotion Vodka with brands that share our vision, and it’s also refreshing to see data that reveals adults are making smarter choices, when transportation options like Uber are available,” said Mike Calleja, COO, Devotion Vodka”
Devotion Vodka, which has an SRP of $19.99, is currently available at prominent national grocery retailers, major restaurant chains, retail stores, restaurants, bars and nightclubs across the U.S. For more information and delicious drink recipes, visit www.devotionvodka.com.
