New York – Last night in New York City’s lower east side, luminaries from the worlds of fashion, Hollywood, art and music converged for an intimate dinner celebrating the official launch of MOËT & CHANDON c/o VIRGIL ABLOH. Creative visionary Virgil Abloh joined forces with Moët & Chandon to re-imagine two limited-edition bottles of Moët Nectar Impérial Rosé champagne – currently the #1 selling rosé champagne in the US – marking the designer’s first-ever liquor brand collaboration. A 3L jeroboam, available exclusively to friends and family of Abloh and Maison, as well as a 750ml “ready-to-wear” design launching nationwide at retailers and on Clos19.com, were previewed by the exclusive crowd.
Guests included actress Emily Ratajkowski, Chloe Sevigny and Star is Born breakout Anthony Ramos; rappers A$AP Ferg and Young Paris; supermodels Winnie Harlow, Jasmine Tookes, Elsa Hosk, Alexandra Richards, Daphne Groeneveld, Sean Frazier, Olivia Perez; celebrity DJ’s Hannah Bronfman, Brendan Fallis, Heron Preston, Va$htie, Amrit; celebrity stylists Ty Hunter and Mimi Cuttrell; athlete Miles Chamley-Watson; artists Daniel Arsham and Haley Wollens; influencers Jenny Cipoletti, Aurora James and Zanita Whittington.
Held at the iconic New Museum in downtown Manhattan, Abloh worked closely with Moët to curate the entire experience, which re-imagined the traditional exhibition format and provided guests with myriad photo moments highlighting the new limited-edition bottles. A 3L jeroboam, available exclusively to friends and family of Abloh and Maison, as well as a 750ml “ready-to-wear” design launching nationwide at retailers and on Clos19.com, were previewed by the exclusive crowd. Vice President of Moët & Chandon USA Renaud Butel and Abloh toasted the “New Wave”, symbolized by his curated guests in attendance and noted in two separate installations: a “For Display Only” amber scrolling LED light ticker fashioned to window beams and a large-scale projection display on the water tower and the wall of the soon-to-open Sister City hotel (part of Ace Hotel Group) next door. DJ Venus X provided energetic beats while guests enjoyed a four-course menu designed to pair with Moët Nectar Impérial Rosé champagne and the final course being paired with two custom cocktails created specifically for this event, “The New Classic” and “The Drop”.
To close the evening, the crowd was treated to a surprise DJ performance by Abloh himself, who joined DJ Venus X for a special set before he and his guests made their way to the Public Hotel for a secret after party that raged on until the early morning hours.
