Santa Anita – The Chandelier Room at Santa Anita played host to a star-studded event this weekend to celebrate Big ‘Cap Day; a historic day of racing boasting a $750,000 purse. The Chandelier Room was at the center of the all the day’s excitement.
As guests entered the event, they were welcomed by the in-house jazz quartet playing standards and originals alike. Partygoers enjoyed a variety of cocktails featuring award-winning Casamigos Tequila, an ultra-premium tequila co-owned and founded by George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman. A crowd favorite was the Mi Casa, which showcased the Casamigos Blanco Tequila, a freshly squeezed blend of lime and orange juice with a touch of agave nectar.
Guests were treated to an array of passed hors d’oeuvres as they placed bets and cheered their favorite horses and jockeys on from The Chandelier Room’s private sports book. Those wanting to watch the horses in-person simply ascended the grand staircase to the private balcony to watch the live thoroughbred action.
Guests enjoyed a special guest appearance by actor and musician Jeff Goldblum, who sat in with the band on piano and brought the partygoers to their feet. Many guests grabbed their partner and began to dance! Goldblum, certainly left them wanting more.
After 10 races and endless pours of Casamigos Tequila, guests enjoyed an arrangement of desserts and slowly trickled out, departing after a long day of celebrating a historic Big ‘Cap race day at Santa Anita.
Special guests included Jeff Goldblum, Todd Lowe, Antonio Villaraigosa, and Thea Andrews.
