New York – Last week, at a special industry toast at Michael’s New York, Nature’s Conservancy’s Bee Raw Blesses Honeycomb cocktails was unveiled.
As we look forward to the coming spring, bringing warm weather and outdoor parties, shake up your cocktail routine with this sweet new drink that packs an edgy punch.
Michael’s has created a signature gin cocktail for Nature Conservancy magazine to toast the latest updates at the magazine, including the magazine now publishing bi-monthly. Formulated by expert mixologist Ektoras Binikos, the cocktail uses single varietal honey from Bee Raw, which sources its honey from family-owned apiaries across the country. Each variety is derived from a single floral source, giving it distinct color, flavor and aroma; the Basswood honey used in this recipe features herbal notes and a clean finish.
1 ½ oz. Uncle Val’s Gin
1 oz. Solerno
1 oz. lemon juice
1 oz. Bee Raw Basswood Honey Syrup
½ oz. egg whites
3 drops Bergamot bitters
2 sage leaves
To create the honey syrup, mix one part Bee Raw Basswood Honey with one part water in a saucepan, bring to a simmer and then cool.
Place all ingredients in a martini shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a lemon twist and a few (2-3) drops of the aromatic bitters.
