AMC’s Mad Men is returning this Sunday, April 7th, and Basil Hayden‘s has created a great classic, yet retro cocktail in honor the new season, the Basil Hayden’s Mad-Hattan.
Its also a little known secret that the writers and cast of Mad Men are HUGE Basil Hayden’s fans. From series creator Matthew Weiner to stars Rich Sommer, Aaron Stanton and more, they all admitted to opening up a bottle of Basil Hayden’s while on set and in the writer’s room. So in honor of the new season, take a note from the cast and unwind with some Basil Hayden’s. Cheers!
Basil Hayden’s® Mad-Hattan (Created by Damian Windsor)
Ingredients:
2 parts Basil Hayden’s® Bourbon
3/4 parts Dolin® Blanc Vermouth de Chambery
1 bar spoon Luxardo® Maraschino Cherries
1 dash Orange Bitters
Method:
1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir until combined.
2. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
3. Garnish with an orange twist.
