I remember it like it was yesterday; 10 years old, playing with the neighborhood kids in the front yard, and grandma’ rings the bell to let us know that the apple pie is ready for our lil’ tummies.
Thanks to Pillsbury, that modern American cliche has met the 21st century. Now 22 years old, tossing back shots in the club, grinding on the dance floor with some randoms, and LiLo kicks in the door with oven mitts on, holding a Vodka Lemonade Cocktail Pie.
Okay, so maybe I’m a little off. These delicious pies haven’t hit the club scene yet and Lilo isn’t allowed any alcohol, but cocktail pies? Yes, they do exist!
So move over cupcakes, you’ve had your time to shine, 2011 is the Year of the Pie! Pillsbury knows what’s up and they have compiled a list of tasty cocktail party pies! Mmm mmm! Yes, vodka, rum, and sangria, all in a pie of their own. Sounds good to me!
Vodka Lemonade Cocktail Pie (pictured above). This pie is a refreshing frozen version of a summer cocktail favorite.
INGREDIENTS
1 Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust, softened as directed on box
2 cups lemon sherbet, softened
1 container (6 oz) Yoplait 99% Fat Free lemon cream pie
1 can (12 oz) frozen lemonade concentrate
¼ cup vodka
Lemon slices, if desired
Mai Tai Cocktail Pie
INGREDIENTS:
1 Pillsbury® refrigerated pie crust, softened as directed on box
2 cups mango sorbet, softened
2 cups coconut sorbet
2 containers (6 oz. each) Yoplait 99% Fat Free pina colada yogurt
1/4 cup rum
Fresh mango slices, if desired
Sangria Cocktail Pie

2 cups raspberry sherbet, softened
2 containers (6 oz. each) Yoplait 99% Fat Free raspberry yougurt
1 cup frozen (thawed) raspberries
1/2 cup sangria
1/2 cup fresh strawberries, if desired
