On Friday night, GREY GOOSE Le Melon and GRAMMY award-winning artist Common hosted the biggest kick off bash of Essence Music Festival at Eiffel Society in New Orleans. To celebrate a major weekend in music, hundreds of guests painted the town blue as they descended up Eiffel to enjoy a fun-filled evening with Chi Town’s finest.
DJ Orator, one of California’s most talented DJs, kicked-off the evening with a great blend of old school and new school hip-hop tracks. But it was Twilight Tone who took the crowd over to Chicago and paved the way for Common’s unforgettable live performance. Performing songs like “The Light,” “Go,” and “Testify,” Common brought the entire crowd to its feet. Loyal fans rapped in unison, while the humble Chi Town rapper worked the stage and proved why he is still one the greatest lyricists of our time. Enjoying an evening out in New Orleans, Solange Knowles was spotted grooving to Common’s live performance, after her memorable DJ set at House of Blues. Throughout the entire evening, bartenders worked diligently to keep up with the ongoing requests for GREY GOOSE Melon Mule cocktails, as party guests danced the night away into the wee hours of the morning.
Saturday night, GREY GOOSE Le Melon, Q -Tip, and Mannie Fresh hosted the second Essence Music Festival bash at Eiffel Society. After spending the evening at the Superdome enjoying performances by Grammy award winning artists such as Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, and The Roots, music lovers of all walks of life made their way to Eiffel for another extraordinary evening with GREY GOOSE and the featured hosts.
Around midnight, Q-Tip took to the stage for a lively DJ set. The upbeat kept the crowd moving and the energy high as guests continued to trickle in. At 2:00am Mannie Fresh jumped on stage with Q-Tip to prepare for his moment behind the DJ booth. Once spotted on stage, camera phones immediately flew into the air as guests eagerly positioned themselves to snap a photo of Mannie Fresh, the internationally known New Orleans born rapper/producer. In transitioning from one DJ to another, Mannie opened his set with Q-Tip’s “Vibrant Thing,” paying homage to his good friend and co-host for the evening. Mannie Fresh made the crowd move, groove and two step, playing tracks such as “Still Fly” by the Big Tymers, “Drunk in Love” by Beyoncé and Jay Z, and “Computer Love” by Zapp and Roger. The epic set left onlookers shouting for more. From midnight to 4:00am, bottle after bottle of GREY GOOSE Le Melon lit the venue, creating a none stop parade of flashing lights. VIP guests enjoyed GREY GOOSE bottle service, while guests on the main floor enjoyed signature cocktails such as the GREY GOOSE Melon Mule and GREY GOOSE Melon Royale.
Notable guests included Common, Anthony Mackie, Chef Roble Ali, Bevy Smith, Twilight Tone, Keyna Barris, Emil Wilbekin of Essence, Claire Sulmers, and Legendary Damon.
