SXSW is just around the corner, and for those heading to Austin looking for a late-night spot to hang, it appears that The Belmont is the place to go.
As part of analyzing over 150 million Instagram photos to produce city guides for over 6,000 cities in its iPhone app, Jetpac City Guides used its image processing technology to see which Austin venues people shared the most photos from 12:00 – 4:00 a.m. at SXSW 2013. And after looking at last year’s data, here are the “Top 10 After-Hours SXSW Bars,” according to Jetpac’s image analysis:

***Those heading to Club de Ville this year will find that it closed just before City Limits in October, but that Cheer Up Charlie’s has moved from East 6th into that Red River space.

These findings are in connection with the release of Jetpac City Guides, a new iPhone app that curates Instagram’s big data to help users find everything from the top bars with women wearing lipstick to coffee shops full of mustached men. The app, which recently launched, gives a new take on today’s digital city guides, utilizing big data imaging rather than user reviews.
