Los Angeles – On Thursday, November 17, W Los Angeles – Westwood hosted Symmetry Live featuring a live set by TORO Y MOI. The event also celebrated the official launch of the hotel’s award-winning ice skating rink, CHILL.
Celebrities and VIP guests embraced the holiday spirit by taking a spin around the newly constructed outdoor rink set amongst twinkling lights, light snowfall and cozy cabanas (which were redesigned for the occasion with elegant décor from Z Gallerie). Specialty cocktails such as the “Sugar & Spice” were served at The Ice Bar alongside an array of decadent food and desserts created by Executive Chef Dakota Weiss. Mechad Brooks of True Blood and Law & Order: SVU stopped by the event and enjoyed a cocktail at The Ice Bar, while dancing pro Karina Smirnoff hopped on the rink with her Dancing with the Stars partner J.R. Martinez. Karina laced on a pair of skates and proved that her moves are not limited just to the dance floor!
Additionally, guests were able to enjoy Drunken Udder Ice Cream! Drunken Udder mixes alcohol and ice cream for a DELICIOUS frozen treat. Pumpkin spice and fresh mint stracciatella flavors were offered and both were oh so tasty!
As the evening progressed, guests started heading inside for the Symmetry Live performance by Toro Y Moi. Hosting the event was W Hotel’s Global Music Director, Michaelangelo L’Aqua, who introduced the band to the roaring crowd. 90210 star Jessica Stroup and Amanda Righetti from The Mentalist got their groove on and danced to the music along with other VIP guests such as Tyler The Creator, Quddus Philippe, and celebrity photographer Mick Rock.
