FESTIVÁL: New York City’s First ‘Farm to Bar’ Cocktail Café & Kitchen Opens on the Upper East Side

NEW YORK, NY – SEPTEMBER 2020: HighLife Productions & RAPT Hospitality are proud to announce their newest venture, FESTIVÁL a “farm-to-bar” cocktail café located on New York’s Upper East Side at 1155 2nd Ave. Officially opening Tuesday, September 1st, this one of a kind ‘American Cocktail Café’ will open for daytime service, offering a diverse menu of unique coffee blends from Brooklyn’s SEY Coffee, RISE Nitro Cold Brew, eclectic teas, matcha’s, and coffee concoctions, and decadent, freshly baked pastries, and evening service with a boutique yet varied menu of sharable plates and bites prepared by partner and executive chef Andrew Maturana.  Cocktail service will begin at 3:00pm (Coffee & Cocktails), and Happy Hour will be from 5pm-7pm which will include unique, culinary-driven craft cocktails from lead mixologists & bartenders Devan van Eyck and Tony Edgerton. FESTIVÁL has partnered with purveyors from the tri-state area to offer guests the freshest, in-season ingredients while also observing the highest quality practices and embracing all things sustainable. They are dedicated to utilizing the most vibrant, local ingredients throughout their bar and kitchen program, celebrating community nourishment, quality, and sustainability — exemplifying a rare union between kitchen, bar, and farmer. Local Purveyors include; Barefoot Botanicals, Lani’s Farm , Montauk Shellfish Company and more.

Salmon Sushi Tostadas with Green Apple Ponzu, Togarashi Spice, Radish, and Ice Plants

Little Creek Oysters with Tomato Mignonette, Real Wasabi Ketchup, FESTIVÁL Hot Sauce, and Lemon

Beef Short Rib Pie with Espresso Porter Beer, Golden Beef Suet Pastry Top

Dragon Carrot Gelato with a Warm, Sticky Bundt Cake, Dark Rum, and Cardamom Cream

Frozen Buck – Glyph Molecular Whiskey, Mint, Lemon, Ginger, Bitters

Lust (Frozen)– Verde Mezcal, Chipotle Tequila, Passionfruit, Lime, Matcha Salt Dust

Phantom Punch (serves 4) – Ten to One Caribbean Rum, Velvet Falernum, Spiced Banana Demerara, Pineapple, Lime, Walnut.

Churchill Downs (Cocktail on Tap) – Beam Black Extra Aged, Cinnamon, Basil, Local Apiary Honey

Designed by Jeffrey White of EAU and constructed by SD Squared, FESTIVÁL offers 1300 square feet of gorgeous interior space; including a 12-seat white marble bar, 10-seat window counter, stunning window seating, and completed with gilded touches of gold and deep, midnight blue accents that transport visitors to a European-style cafe. State-of-the-art kitchenware is featured throughout the restaurant, including a custom midnight blue & gold MAVAM espresso machine, Rise Nitro Tap, and a custom FESTIVÁL Cocktail Tap. To comply with New York City’s outdoor dining restrictions, FESTIVÁL provides 20 tables of sidewalk seating for seat 40 customers.

FESTIVÁL also offers a unique exploratory concept – The Mixology Table. The Mixology Table is where expert mixologists will prepare an all-sensory cocktail tasting experience for guests who are looking to expand their palates and learn about groundbreaking techniques and flavor profiles. Six cocktails paired with 6 bites over the course of 2hrs. This is the premier mixology experience! (Inside dining only).

Also, part of the FESTIVÁL experience is the FESTIVÁL Cocktail Delivery Program, which is available in membership format. Members can sign up for discounted access to premier mixology delivered straight to their door within Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.  Menus change weekly, and those who download the FESTIVÁLapp can see the menu & order directly from the app. The bottled craft cocktails are available in 750ml and 32oz. portions, perfect for bringing the flavors of FESTIVÁL home! Finally, SOCIAL SUNDAYS is the weekly salon series event that allows members, guests, and insiders a chance to meet the purveyors. This Q+A style series is part education, part free drinks!
