6 Fun Valentine’s Day Drink Recipes


Valentine’s Day can be a stressful occasion for the millions of people striving to make the day memorable, but there are a number of things you can do to show someone you care.  Whether you buy flowers,  fly thousands of miles to see them or simply make your own valentine’s card, you can make the day special for someone else.

The right combination of cocktail ingredients with a festive feel can ensure that this Valentine’s Day is stress-free. Whether you are looking for romantic drink ideas for just the two of you, or fun party drinks for a large gathering, the list below will have something for any Valentine’s Day scenario.



Pomegranate Mimosas

Start Valentine’s Day off at brunch with your significant other, where a twist on classical mimosas is sure to be a hit.  Cook a bountiful breakfast and serve with a side of pomegranate mimosas.  This sweet yet tart drink is garnished with fresh pomegranates and fits the color scheme of the holiday perfectly.

Bacardi Red Punch

Valentine’s Day is filled with red and pink, so another vibrant red cocktail should fit right in.  Incorporating three different types of Bacardi rum, this punch is the perfect mix of boozy and tropical and will warm you up in February.  This drink is also easy to make for a couple or a group, perfect for date night or a party.

·         ¾ part Bacardi Limon

·         ¾ part Bacardi Raspberry

·         ¾ part Bacardi Superior

·         ½ part grenadine

·         2 parts sweet and sour mix

·         1 part cranberry juice


Honey Bee

The Honey Bee comes together in a perfect combination of sweet and spice that any Valentine’s Day participant is looking for.  The Honey Bee is centered around Drambuie, a scotch whisky blended with honey and spices and combined with Prosecco and several dashes of walnut bitters to create sweet heat in a champagne flute.


·         ¾ oz Drambuie

·         3 dashes of walnut bitters

·         Top champagne flute with prosecco


Bourbon Amaretto

Yet another cocktail for they whisk(e)y lover, this bourbon and amaretto paring is perfect for this winter holiday.  This drink is easy to make for one or combine in a pitcher for a group.  Serve it on ice and top with Sprite.  If desired, garnish with an orange slice and/or some maraschino cherries. 


·         2 oz bourbon

·         2 oz amaretto

·         1 tablespoon Maraschino cherry juice

·         1 can Sprite

The bourbon-amaretto mixture should be poured over ice and divided between 2 glasses, then topped with Sprite! Enjoy!


Casa Blood Orange

If you happen to have any leftover tequila from your Super Bowl party then this is the perfect drink for your Valentine’s Day festivities. The Casa Blood Orange requires several more exotic ingredients, so be sure to plan ahead for the next time you hit a grocery store.  Similar to a traditional margarita, the Casa Blood Orange combines the smooth agave flavors of Casamigos Tequila with the strong yet sweet flavor of blood orange.

·         2 oz Casamigos Blanco Tequila

·         1 oz blood orange juice

·         1 oz fresh lime juice

·         ½ oz simple syrup

·         2 serrano slices

Salt/sugar the glass like a classic margarita and feel free to garnish liberally with blood orange. 



The Cosmopolitan is a staple of mixology, and one of the most classic drinks in our culture.  With its pretty pink hue, it is a classy cocktail with a Valentine’s Day twist.  For a high-end feel, choose a nice vodka and a quality orange liqueur such as Cointreau.


·         1 ½ oz vodka

·         1 oz orange liqueur

·         ½ oz fresh lime juice

·         ¼ oz cranberry juice

Feel free to garnish with orange peel.
