Los Angeles, CA – Last night, D’USSE Cognac’s renowned D’USSE Re-Mixer Series returned to Los Angeles celebrating Grammys week with the city’s top bartenders and music elite at Beauty & Essex in the Dream Hotel in Hollywood.

Held in two interactive sessions, guests – including notables such as music artist Rapsody, actor Omar Dorsey, model Broderick Hunter, and fashion icons Nazanin and Ugo Mozie – were offered an intimate taste of D’USSE, an immersion to the cognac category, and its role in both cocktail and music culture.DJ Millie and DJ Olivia Dope entertained with sets throughout the evening, as guests were led through the immersive experience.
9TH WONDER, the Grammy Award-winning producer responsible for hits by Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J Blige, unveiled the connection between remixing classic cocktails and mixing tracks through an interactive DJ masterclass. Together, the crowd discussed the nuances of DJ equipment including vinyl records that interface with a computer, the investment of DJ equipment, which many people take for granted. 9th touched on how many DJs don’t know how to play through time periods well, mixing the decades without warning, and his most exciting recent project: producing the last song on one of Kendrick Lamar’s albums.

COLIN ASARE-APPIAH, Bacardi Trade Director of Culture & Lifestyle and Senior Portfolio Ambassador, explained what constitutes a cognac and how D’USSE is created, before prompting to re-mix the classic Sidecar. The exercise demonstrated D’USSE VSOP’s versatility and how top bartenders are using D’USSE to amplify cocktails for a truly memorable and flavorful experience.
