New York, NY – Kicking off New York Fashion Week, a star-studded crowd celebrated the 21st annual amfAR Gala New York at Cipriani Wall Street. The black-tie affair was nothing short of spectacular, honoring icons Milla Jovovich, Simon de Pury and Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott for their efforts and support in the fight against AIDS. Charity and glamour filled the room equally as guests enjoyed flowing glasses Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Champagne.
Kicking off the evening was a a performance by Caroline Vreeland, singing an original ballad from her forthcoming album.’ Wearing pink Oscar de la Renta, model Karolina Kurkova presented the first award of the night to Simon de Pury, which was followed by a gala-wide Perrier-Jouët Champagne toast led by international supermodel Winnie Harlow. Following the toast, singer-songwriter Parson James performed his hit ‘Stole the Show.’ Actress Michelle Rodriguez later presented to honoree Milla Jovovich and Kim Kardashian West – welcomed onstage with tunes by husband Kanye playing overhead – presented to her close friends Mert and Marcus.
The Chainsmokers closed out the night with a set of their top hits including ‘Closer,’ ‘Hope’ and were then joined on-stage byGrammy nominee Kelsea Ballerini to perform their new hit single ‘This Feeling’ – bringing everyone to their feet and toasting the incredible work of amfAR.
Additional celebrities in attendance included Kourtney Kardashian, Heidi Klum, Candace Swanepeol, Devon Windsor, Hilary Rhoda, Alan Cumming, Lais Ribiero, Bar Rafaeli, Simon Huck, Karen Elson, Lion Babe, Elsa Hosk, Chanel Iman, Alessandra Ambrosio, Nicky Rothschild, and many more came together to raise a glass and awareness for the organization.
