September 24, 2018 – Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen announces its latest gastronomic venture with the opening of Sushi ‘n’ Raw Seafood Bar and Restaurant, set to launch on the property September 29, 2018. Sushi ‘n’ Raw is an exclusive expansion based on contemporary, progressive Japanese culinary concepts that focus on locally-sourced fish and produce, highlighting the region’s best.
Since its opening in 2015 as the only beachfront luxury resort on Mamita’s Beach, Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen has been dedicated to offering clientele unmatched, dynamic dining experiences. “We are excited to expand our offering and invite guests to celebrate innovation within Mexico’s culinary field and beyond.” says Chef Antonio.
Led by Chef Antonio Herrera, Sushi ‘n’ Raw will offer guests a carefully-appointed interactive menu, showcasing a wide array of delicate flavors of nigiri, sashimi, and sushi rolls, complemented with curated poke, ramen and bento boxes. A highlight of the menu is the resort’s notable “Flaming Roll”, which includes a creative mix of tampico, avocado, yuzu kosho mayo, sriracha, sesame and sweet soy, wrapped in foil and flamed upon presentation.
To further enhance the extraordinary food offering, Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen mixologists have curated an exclusive beverage menu that features specialty cocktails, non-alcoholic mocktails, imported sake and sochu, and a variety of Japan’s finest beers and teas. The expansive wine list features a premiere selection of options from around to world to cater to every guest’s cravings.
Set within the renowned Sordo Madaleno-designed resort, the restaurant is located at the end of the property’s promenade and features a sophisticated 42-seated, walls-free dining area that faces a breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea. Additionally, Sushi ‘n’ Raw highlights an eight-person sushi bar, where guests will be treated to live cooking and sushi demonstrations from the talented chefs.
Sushi ‘n’ Raw is the third restaurant on the resort property, adding to the Mexican restaurant La Cocina and award-winning The Grill 1 26, Playa del Carmen’s only signature beachfront restaurant. The opening will take place in conjunction with the on-site launch of Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen’s new music series Playa Sunset Sessions , which will showcase partnerships between Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen and international culturally diverse DJs and musicians. DJ Niros & Holt will be the first music curators of the series, and they will provide an exciting live music backdrop for the restaurant opening on September 29.
Sushi ‘n’ Raw will be open to guests and the public, daily from 1PM – 9PM.
