With the warmer months finally upon us, we thought it was time to find the best boozy brunches NYC has to offer.
Our criteria? Delicious food, strong drinks, and preferably an outdoor space to be able to enjoy the rays on a Sunday funday.
Cue KATCH Astoria – the perfect neighborhood spot with a great selection of drinks and food! With over 70 HD TV’s spread across the entire bar and a 2,500 square feet beer garden, we knew this place would be popping during a game, brunch, or happy hour!
The Tipsy Team visited KATCH for their Sunday brunch. With the weather being 70 degrees and beautiful, we opted to sit outside in the beer garden. The area consists of community picnic tables with string lights and TV’s spread across the section. The brunch menu is extensive – you can find crowd-favorites like Eggs Benedict and a Classic Hamburger. They also offer a list of drinks and cocktails with the option to make it BOTTOMLESS including all brunch cocktails and unlimited beer of the day! The choice to opt for beer is a great selling point for all those who would rather enjoy a crisp ale over a mimosa or bloody mary. There is something for everybody!
We started with the Avocado Toast – organic 7 grain bread (made in-house!), kale pesto, poached eggs, avocado (well, duh), alfalfa sprouts and chilli infused oil – yum! The bread was delicious and the eggs were cooked just right. Not only was the dish healthy and made to perfection, but the portion size was good enough to easily satisfy a hungry customer!
Next, we tried the Katch Brunch Burger – over easy egg, cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon, baby farm green and chorizo aioli. Just writing about it gets us hungry all over again. The chef cooked the burger as requested and the smoky notes of bacon and aioli add those brunch vibes to your palette. We also ordered the open face quesadillas and F’ing good french toast (it lives up to the name!).

We were very very excited to try the drinks as well (obviously!). We started with the Mediterranean Mule and White Kosmopolitan. The Kocktails are priced at $13-$14, which might be a little steep for brunch so going the bottomless route might be a good idea if you’re looking to leave tipsy. We also had the Katch Kadillac – a classic margarita with Espolon Blanco, bulldog style with a Coronita – a crowd-pleaser for sure!
If you’re looking for good food and boozy drinks, our go-to’s would be the Avocado Toast, F’ing Good French Toast and the Katch Burger! The drinks kept coming (as they should if you want a boozy brunch!) and if you’re planning an outing soon, don’t leave without having the Kadillac – it makes you feel like you are sipping margs on the beaches of Miami.
Fun fact – Katch has almost 50 beers as well as wine on tap. Yes, that’s right – wine on tap! They also have daily specials, weekly events like Bingo Tuesdays, Trivia Wednesdays and Thursday is Ladies Night. On Sunday’s, in addition to the brunch, you can also get unlimited pasta starting at 4:00pm!
All in all, if you’re looking for a fun outdoor restaurant and bar with a group of friends or a date, Katch is a solid choice!
