Though classic cocktails have reemerged and today’s bar scene is stronger than ever, somewhere along the way in our busy lives, we lost sight of the art of the aperitif. We’re often in too much of a hurry to take the time, and when we do opt for a before dinner drink, it’s usually an overly alcoholic Martini, or a glass of wine that gets carried over to dinner rather than enjoyed as its own affair. A true aperitif should allow us to relax, affording us just the right amount of time to catch up with friends, a significant other, or whoever else we happen to be dining with. Intended to prepare the stomach and stimulate the palate prior to the meal, these pleasant, low abv drinks can be sipped over light snacks and conversation, easing us into the night rather than impairing us before the food arrives.
To help everyone slow down for a moment and properly unwind at the end of the day, we recommend re-discovering the art of the aperitif with these delicious before-dinner drink options featuring vermouth expressions from La Quintinye Vermouth Royal.
Easily drinkable, with a floral nose and light, though not too-sweet palate, Vermouth Royal can be enjoyed neat or in a refreshing cocktail.
Cheers!
