New York – Over the weekend, the 10th Annual Jazz Age Lawn Party presented by St-Germain and Martini & Rossi, took place on New York’s Governors Island. More than 5,000 free-spirited flappers and well-dressed gents were transported back to the Roaring Twenties with period-styled cocktails, food, and music throughout the afternoon affair. By end of the day tomorrow, more than 10,000 retro-minded revelers will have participated.
Once again, New York Times’ legendary fashion photographer BILL CUNNINGHAM attended and captured all the guests experiencing a “swellegant” weekend of live music by Lawn Party Host Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra. Dancing, gourmet eats, and a variety of Golden Age-inspired cocktails showcasing St-Germain and Martini & Rossi Sparkling Wines were additional event highlights, along with veteran guest JOSH LUCAS (A Beautiful Mind, Sweet Home Alabama) with ex-wife JESSICA CIENCIN HENRIQUEZ and their son, Noah.
St-Germain French elderflower liqueur, a personal favorite of Michael Arenella, was the signature spirit of the Lawn Party once again. Master mixologist Julie Reiner, owner of Brooklyn’s Clover Club and author of newly released The Craft Cocktail Party, created signature 10thAnniversary Cocktails and the specialty Boathouse Punch in honor of the milestone anniversary.
Michael Arenella and His Dreamland Orchestra debuted toe-tapping tunes from their new album, Just in Time, which kept the revelers rowdy as they “cut a rug,” learning period dances like the Charleston. In between shimmying and shaking on the dance floor, guests enjoyed bites from an array of gourmet food trucks and stands, among them Luke’s Lobster and Empire Biscuits. The event also featured a 1920s Car Exhibition, vintage clothing vendors, dance lessons, vintage portraits and more to delight the assorted Dapper Dans and Dolled-Up Daisys.
