
New York – Last night, the Boys & Girls Harbor hosted its 2015 Salute to Achievement Benefit featuring special performances by Jennifer Hudson, Vanessa Williams, and the students of the Harbor at The Plaza Hotel in New York City.
Executive Director of The Harbor Dr. Thomas Howard and Event chair William A. Ackman, Founder and CEO, Pershing Square Capital Management honored David R. Weinreb, CEO, The Howard Hughes Corporation alongside Event Co-Chairs Vanessa Williams, Anthony Ingrao, Steven Tisch, and Lyor Cohen. The evening was hosted by Sandra Bookman, Emmy Award-winning anchor from ABC7.
Academy Award-winning and American Idol Jennifer Hudson performed ‘Angel,’ ‘Hallelujah,’ and improvised duets with the students of The Harbor.
Former Miss America Vanessa Williams sang her Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning song ‘Colors of the Wind’ and surprised the crowd by inviting Weinreb to join her in a jazzy duet of ‘On A Clear Day.’
Students of The Harbor demonstrated their incredible talent with a heartfelt and inspiring rendition of ‘Glory’ by John Legend and Common.
