The last time we spoke with DJ Cobra back in August, we discussed his rise to becoming one of the most sought after DJ’s in the world. He talked about his crazy travel schedule in addition to some of the exclusive events and celebrities that have been graced by his beats. We also briefly talked about his new iPhone application, DrinkCity, and the possibility of a new club opening…
Cut to now, and Cobra is about ready for the opening of his new club, loosely called “Lingerie” that is slated to open in the first quarter of 2013. Cobra and his four partners; Jeffrey Best who is a legend in the event world, J.T. Torregiani and Sylvain Bitton of Les Deux fame, (JT now with Beso), and Evan Ross, each bring something different to the table. Each are well-respected individuals who have made a name for themselves in Hollywood nightlife. The collaborative approach, experience, and connections that they will bring to this new venue is a good sign that it will roll out appropriately and hopefully have some longevity in the fickle Hollywood club scene.
The 4,500 sq. ft. space is located on Sunset and Wilcox and has been going through a full renovation. The historic building will not operate in the same capacity as it’s previous owner. They have very little restrictions and a good amount of flexibility with the space. Right now, Cobra and team are getting their staff in place and will most likely host a series of intimate events and soft openings before the full roll-out.
Be on the lookout for a series of nights throughout the week that include DJ nights, live music nights, etc.
In addition to his new club opening, Cobra is back at it with his busy travel schedule up until the new year. He will travel to China, Tokyo, Thailand, Vegas, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco for NYE, with more cities in between.
