
New York – On Thursday, May 9th – top industry tastemakers, foodies, celebrities and moguls convened at the Top of the Standard to celebrate the launch of Bacardi’s new luxury cognac, D’USSE® [dew-say]; a bold new expression of Cognac. The exclusive event, well-attended by heavy hitters Jay-Z, Jake Gyllenhaal and Pharrell, provided party guests with one of the first opportunities to taste this uniquely powerful, authentic, French luxury Cognac before it hits shelves in New York this summer. In addition to serving the cognac neat, famed mixologist Justin Noel also created intricate signature drinks like the Lorraine 75 and Crusader’s Cross.
A true boys night out, Jay-Z showed up sans Beyonce and made advance arrangements to have the Knicks vs. Heats game projected on a plasma, so that he could set up shop in front of the TV while sipping cognac with his A-list buddies. The AV accommodations, a request never-before-granted by the Boom Boom Room, kept the crew fixated all night long, except for Pharrell, in Chanel suspenders, who caught up with Roc Nation DJ, Jus Ske on the opposite side of the room. Solange and Tina Knowles also made it out to enjoy a D’USSE cocktail and to keep the guys in check.
