Katie Lee, celebrity chef and best selling cookbook author is back at it again with her debut novel, ‘Groundswell.’
On Tuesday, June 28, 2011, Katie Lee, Gilt City, and the W. Hotel Los Angeles hosted a private book party poolside at the hotel. It was the perfect night for such a cozy, intimate, event. In addition, make-up company, Stila Cosmetics, took over a cabana and gave away free makeovers. The bar was hosted by ‘The Edison.’
If you don’t know much about Katie, well listen up. She is the food and lifestyle contributor for The Early Show and has appeared on Oprah, The Rachel Ray Show, CBS Sunday Morning, and the list goes on. She writes regularly for Cosmopolitan and has been featured in Vanity Fair, People, Food and Wine, InStyle, etc. In addition, she is the author of two cookbooks,The Comfort Table and The Comfort Table: Recipes for Everyday Occasions.
Her new novel, Groundswell, is loosely based on her life. Although cooking has always been a passion of hers, surfing is actually what inspired her to write this novel. After her divorce to singer, Billy Joel, in 2009, Katie took up surfing and it changed her life for the better. She’s moving right along…
The novel is about a young woman, Emma Guthrie, moving on from her divorce from a superstar actor and the glitz and glamour that came with it. Katie chronicles what comes next for Emma and how surfing played a vital role in her healing and helped her find what she really needed. “How losing everything you thought you wanted can be the first step to finding what you really need”
