‘ABH’ aka ‘Above Beverly Hills’…clever, I know..at the Thompson Hotel is a must see, especially for the amazing views. After taking the elevator up to the roof, I wasn’t too sure what to expect. I really didn’t see the outdoor oasis coming. Sort of breathtaking when you don’t have a clue. You guys out there looking to close the deal, this wouldn’t be a bad idea. Lets set this straight now, if you keep the chatter down to a minimum, tourists wont be crawling all over it. Nothing against them, but you know…let them continue flickin on “The Hills” repeats to plan their nights out. Must say, it was a good time. If you don’t believe me, read what the Tipsy Ladies on the field had to say.
When exiting the elevator and entering the stylish rooftop, the bar is the first thing in sight with a large palm tree that sits amidst all of the alcohol. This would be considered the lower level of the rooftop, as the pool sits one level above this, up the stairs. The lower level is an open area with a few nooks that offer some privacy. For more privacy during the evening, head up the stairs to the pool area, where lounge chairs, heat lamps and multiple cabanas line the lit pool and are perfect for a more relaxed experience.
When glancing around, it is obvious that the design of this swanky lounge was created with MUCH thought, that lends itself to prominent designer Dodd Mitchell. With shrubs and flowers surrounding the rooftop, you truly feel like you are in an oasis in the middle of a bustling city.
Depending on the time of day, the atmosphere of the bar changes dramatically. During the daytime, you can find models lounging by the pool, sipping on cocktails, as if they don’t have a care in the world. Even though we all know, it must be hard to maintain those figures. During the evening, the trendsetters are mingling over drinks overlooking the Los Angeles skyline. Both times of day still offer vast and beautiful views of the city.
One of the strong drinks offered is the ‘Snap Dragon.’ Consisting of Kettle citron, ginger elixir, lemon and mint, it was very strong, with a prominent lemony taste.

Another cocktail is the ‘Black Jam‘, consisting of red wine, lemon, and blackberry. The Black Jam tasted more like a sweet wine, with blackberries mixed in, which made the flavor pop! But nonetheless, still delicious!
And lastly, check out this cool view…
