On Monday night, acclaimed chef Curtis Stone hosted “Le Grand Dîner,” a traveling consumer dinner series by Champagne Bollinger in partnership with Resy, at his Michelin Star restaurant, Maude. The multi-course dinner showcased Bollinger’s prestige cuvée, La Grande Année 2008, an embodiment of the iconic House’s style, alongside a variety of signature dishes as well as specials to highlight the complexity of the standout wine.

At the start of the evening, Chef Curtis Stone welcomed guests and remarked how thrilled he was to be working with Champagne Bollinger, not just because it’s an excellent house, but also because his wife drinks it. He also informed the crowd that it was Maude’s 5 year anniversary, and toasted everyone with a glass of La Grande Année 2008, to mark the occasion.

Champagne Bollinger’s U.S. Director Valerie McDaniel further touched on La Grande Année 2008, explaining how it’s fruity, spicy and floral notes intertwine to reveal a wide spectrum of aromatics and creamy effervescence that beg to be enjoyed throughout the entire meal.

Chef Curtis personally plated each of the six courses and served each table, adding that he was happy to play second fiddle to the champagne during the dinner. The menu, made up of fresh Southern California ingredients, served as an exclusive preview of dishes for Maude’s upcoming champagne focused menu that will debut on July 5 and run through September. Reservations can be made at mauderestaurant.com through Resy.

At the end of the evening, Curtis thanked everyone for joining in the celebration of Maude and La Grande Année 2008, saying “I think this is one of the first times that the year 2008 has been cheered in Beverly Hills!

The dinner series,  which was created to launch La Grande Année 2008 in the U.S., kicked off in NYC on June 10th at Legacy Records, will be heading to Tied House in Chicago next week (June 24)!

Le Grand Dîner helps break the misconception that Champagne is for before the meal, rather than during it.  Champagne Bollinger La Grande Année 2008 is available nationwide in limited quantities at fine retail shops and leading restaurants.
