Miami, FL – Last night, the 9th ANNUAL BOMBAY SAPPHIRE ARTISAN SERIES FINALE PARTY – hosted by actress TESSA THOMPSON in collaboration with ARTSY took place at Miami’s infamous Villa Casa Casuarina – formerly known as the Versace Mansion. Thompson hosted an illustrious mix of celebrities and industry innovators to celebrate the work of the program’s extraordinary 15 finalists. VIP guests included actresses Laura Harrier and Sasha Lane; models Teyana Taylor, Devon Windsor, Shaun Ross, and Beau Dunn; DJs Brendan Fallis and Coco & Breezy; Rapper Brittney Taylor; artists Chloe Wise, Sarah BahBah, andthe Kaplan Twins; Former NBA athlete Kevin Garnett.
The crowd mingled and sipped artfully crafted Bombay Sapphire cocktails to a DJ set by Grammy award-winning duo SOFI TUKKER, as Tessa, Sasha, Teyana, and Devon took over the stage to dance. The evening came to close with the girls making a pit stop in Donatella Versace’s former quarters for their own private photoshoot.
Thompson announced Montreal artist Erik Nieminen as the Grand Finale Winner of the 9th Annual Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series competition. In addition to Nieminen, Tessa announced the Second Place Winner Judy McReynolds-Bowman (Detroit) and People’s Choice Winner J. Margulis (Miami). Following his win, Nieminen will collaborate with global art platform Artsy on a groundbreaking public arts installation set to debut in New York City next summer.
