Established in 1872 in Ginza, Tokyo, SHISEIDO has continued to spearhead innovation and act as a pioneer in the beauty space. The relaunch of SHISEIDO Makeup is the next exciting chapter in the company’s extensive history. The brand’s mission is to gift Japan to the world by showcasing its rich heritage and groundbreaking technology via an all-encompassing collection that is modern, minimalistic, visionary, expressive, and creative. The focal point of the range are the product’s unique, sensorial textures: Dews, Gels, Inks, and Powders.
SHISEIDO invites you to rediscover Japanese beauty and celebrate the launch of the NEW SHISEIDO Makeup Collection at the Japanese Beauty Gallery. Inspired by Japan’s rich history, the new SHISEIDO Makeup redefines beauty via four reimagined textures — Gels, Inks, Powders, Dews— that are weightless in feel yet lasting in color. At this pop-up, visitors will walk through four unique room experiences that bring each texture to life; have a chance to test and play with the makeup collection; and explore J-Beauty in the Tokyo Underground Lounge.
Join SHISEIDO Makeup at a series of event happenings at the Gallery:
· Texture Room Journey: Walk through four rooms that bring each of the innovative textures—Gels, Inks, Dews and Powders—to life.
· Tokyo Underground Lounge Photo Exhibit: Explore celebrity videographer and photographer Mike Rosenthal’s first-ever Japanese photo exhibit.
· Tokyo Underground Lounge Food Experience: Reserve a spot at the four-seat, four-course “tasting table.” For a limited time only, chef and restaurateur Jeremy Fall will prepare a special, Japanese-infused tasting menu inspired by the four textures in the SHISEIDO Makeup collection. Jeremy is known as the first culinary talent to sign to Jay Z’s Roc Nation entertainment company. He is the creator and chef of Nighthawk: Breakfast Bar (LA), Tinfoil (LA), Easy’s (LA), and Nighthawk: AM (Chicago & LA). Jeremy is known to many foodies for his creative and elevated takes on classic American dishes. Now, at SHISEIDO’s NYC pop-up, Jeremy delivers never-seen-before creations. Fusing his signature style with inspiration from Japanese culture, the chef serves dishes composed of fresh, quality ingredients with playful, nostalgic twists.
