In anticipation of this Sunday’s presidential debate (10/9) – what better way to get you through the night than politically-charged libations with Bombay Sapphire Gin?

In honor of renowned artist Pedro Reyes’ latest Doomocracy immersive art installation with CREATIVE TIME in New York, Bombay Sapphire North American Ambassador, Gary Hayward, recently unveiled “The ‘Merican Dream” and “Vote For Me” cocktails. Carrying on the Americana theme, the signature The ‘Merican Dream cocktail glass was molded into the shape of America’s most beloved “King of Beers,” Budweiser, while The “Vote for Me” showcased cilantro-infused gin, a tip of the cap the man of the hour, pushing boundaries just like Reyes to heighten the 10 botanicals in Bombay Sapphire.

This Sunday, those who plan on tuning in to one of the most-watched presidential showdowns will have the opportunity to re-create these inspirational concoctions at home.

The  ‘Merican Dream

1.5oz Bombay Sapphire Gin
0.5oz lemon juice
0.25oz pumpkin syrup
1.5oz apple juice
Small pinch of nutmeg, cinnamon and saffron
Foam: Equal parts egg white, lemon, simple syrup and apple syrup. Shake hard with 1 ice cube and spoon onto the top of the cocktail. Method: Small Pinch of nutmeg. Small Pinch of cinnamon. Small pinch of saffron. Shake and serve over ice.

**A work of art in its own right, Hayward’s original The ‘Merican Dream took cues from our current political landscape (where balloons are abundant) and featured a tongue-in-cheek, 100% edible red balloon tasting of Bombay Sapphire made with a complex combination of isomalt (infused with the gin’s 10 botanicals), xanthan gum, and carboxymethyl cellulose.

0.5oz pink grapefruit juice
0.5oz lemon juice
0.25oz simple syrup
0.5oz amaro
Method: Shake with ice and serve over ice. Garnish with cantaloupe melon.

1.5 cups Bombay Sapphire Gin
1 cup Butterfly Pea flower tea brewed and chilled
3/4 cup St-Germain French Elderflower Liqueur
3/4 cup Fresh Lemon Juice
3 cups MARTINI & ROSSI Prosecco
Method: Place all ingredients in a punch bowl or pitcher and mix Add Prosecco. Serve. *Tip: Freeze edible flowers in ice and use to chill punch

1 part Peach Schnapps
¼ part Sugar Syrup
Method: Shake ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with orange zest.

3 oz Fevertree tonic
Lime wedge OR different garnish (lemongrass, juniper, coriander, cassia bark, etc)
Method: Press lemongrass stem and lime wedge into base of an old fashioned glass. Fill with ice and build. Garnish with a lime wedge (can be subbed), lemongrass stem.

¾ part St-Germain French Elderflower Liqueur
¼ part Aperol
1 part Bombay Sapphire Gin
¼ part Fresh Lemon
top with Moet & Chandon Imperial Rose
Method: Shake first four ingredients with ice and strain into a Champagne flute. Top with brut rose sparkling wine, and garnish with an orange peel or twist.

1½ parts Bombay Sapphire Gin
¾ part St-Germain French Elderflower Liqueur
½ part Aperol
½ part Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
Top with float of Moet & Chandon Champagne
Method: Combine all ingredients in a shaker except the Champagne, add ice and shake. Strain into a chilled coupe. Finish with a float of champagne and garnish with an orange peel. Much like affaires de l’amour, this cocktail will help you tolerate all that is bitter and sweet.
