There are few things better than combining great friends and the great outdoors.

Everyone wants to be outside when the weather is beautiful, so why not create an excuse to bask in the sun and enjoy one of the best summer traditions – the picnic. The original Skinnygirl® Bethenny Frankel and Skinnygirl® Cocktails are sharing the tips and tricks below to plan the picnic perfect.

Cheers!

__________

Picnic Tips & Tricks:

1. Don’t Skip Starters – Just because you’re outside doesn’t mean you should pass up the cheese and crackers. Grab your cheese board, and cube up all of your favorites in advance. Don’t forget the wine to go with it – Skinnygirl® Cocktails has a wide selection like Skinnygirl® Pinot Noir, Skinnygirl® Moscato and Skinnygirl® California Rosé to help toast to the perfect picnic.

2. Keep it Classic – The charm of the picnic lies in the tradition. Pack up your supplies in a basket, and certainly don’t forget a checkered blanket. An iced tea or lemonade cocktail, such as What-A-Melon! or Summertime Raspberry Lemonade, is a great way to stick to the traditional picnic roots with seasonal flavors.

3. Mason Jar Meals – The key to a flawless picnic is a no-mess meal. To make cleanup a breeze, try packing your food in individual mason jars. For a delish side dish, spoon hummus or guacamole into the bottom of the jar and top with carrots and celery sticks. (Mason jars can also double as cocktail cups for make-ahead drinks – just prep at home, and they’re ready to sip on the spot!)

4. Bag the Sandwich – Save the boring sandwich for another day! Pack up light, yet flavorful bites that can be shared. Bethenny’s Chickpea and Basil Salad is a great choice that’s packed with taste.

5. Infuse It – In addition to delish cocktails, water is a must! Add fresh fruit and herbs to water bottles for a tasty way to keep hydrated in the summer heat.
