The sixth-annual Taste of Italy, L.A.’s premier food and wine event to benefit the Italian American Museum of Los Angeles (IAMLA), will take place on October 11th in downtown Los Angeles. Taste of Italy showcases over 30 of the region’s best restaurants and fine Italian wines, as well as music entertainment, cooking demonstrations, and celebrity appearances.
Participating restaurants will include: Valentino, Drago Centro, Locanda Del Lago, Il Fornaio, Naples, Al Bacio, GROM, and Celestino. Approximately 100 world-class wines will be served by participants such as Casa Torelli, Mazzocco, Mosby, and more. For a complete list of participants visit www.italianhall.org. The Cooking Demo stage will feature master chef Nico Chessa of Valentino and Di Stefano Cheese, among others.
Taste of Italy’s entertainment lineup includes the female retro vocalist trio Swing Dolls, performances by LA Opera, and the sultry sounds of Frank Sinatra by Nick D’Egidio. La Dolce Vita will entertain with the most popular Italian pop songs, while the Lorenzo Grassi Group will showcase modern Italian jazz.
“Taste of Italy offers a true Italian experience in downtown Los Angeles. Food, wine, and culture are interconnected in the Italian lifestyle,” explained Marianna Gatto, Executive Director of the IAMLA and historian. “The Italian American Museum of Los Angeles will be open in the next few months and Taste of Italy is a special opportunity to celebrate the Italian and Italian-American legacy and contributions in the heart of Los Angeles,” said Paul Pagnone, president of the IAMLA.
