‘Tis the season for holiday entertaining, and what better way to get in the spirit than festive cocktails?
Mixologist Johnny Swet, who has created cocktail menus for such celebrity hotspots as the NYC lounge JIMMY, Rogue & Canon and the newly opened lounge, The Skylark, has designed some eye-catching, colorful cocktails that incorporate fruitwater (the naturally fruit flavored, zero calorie sparkling water beverage from the makers of vitaminwater).
In a tin shaker, add ½ oz of lemon juice, 1 ½ oz of Gin, ½ oz of Crème de Mure, ½ oz Raspberry liquor, shake with ice, strain into a martini glass and top with chilled black raspberry fruit water garnish with a sunken blackberry.
Grilled Lime Mojito
In a tin muddle 6 to 10 mint leaves with a grilled lime wedge, add ½ oz lime juice, ½ oz of agave nectar, 1 ½ oz of anejo rum, shake with ice, strain into a tall glass with ice, top with lemon-lime fruit water, garnish with a long mint sprig and an additional grilled lime wedge.
In a tin muddle micro red shiso, add 2 dashes of orange bitters and ¼ lemon juice, add ½ oz maple syrup and ½ oz cinnamon syrup, 2 oz of Bourbon, shake with ice, fine strain over a cinnamon ice block and garnish with more red shiso..
