The cooler weather is upon us, and what better way to transition into fall’s early sunsets and crisp nights other than with delicious, warming cocktails. This year, substitute the classic choice of muddled cider and hot toddy for these festive, sophisticated cocktails being served at CAFE del REY, Picca, and Public Kitchen.

Warm up by the fireplace in CAFE del REY’s Regatta room, Marina del Rey’s premiere restaurant for waterside dining that is serving specialties like the Ginger & Beer – a modern take on the classic shandy – made with Tito’s handmade vodka, Fee’s orange bitters, orange wedge, Fever Tree ginger beer, and seasonal draft lager foam. Alternatively, capitalize on the distinct flavor of fall, and sip on a Pumpkin Pie Martini, a creamy pumpkin pie-like delight that has graham cracker crumbs on the rim, and makes for a perfect dessert-in-a-cup!

Picca, the modern Peruvian cuisine with a Japanese flair helmed by Chef Ricardo Zarate, named Best New Chef from Food & Wine magazine, offers a selection of imaginative cocktails that combines fresh herbs and seasonal produce, including their Sweet Potato Sour blending five-year aged rum, sweet potato, brown sugar, fresh lemon, clover honey, baking spices, egg white, and nutmeg. Also offered is their famed Pisco Sour that mixes fresh lemon and lime juice, sugar, egg white, Angostura Bitters logo and a hint of cinnamon, which are two tailor-made cocktails perfect for warming up on a crisp winter evening.

Public Kitchen, located in the lobby of the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, is taking guests back in time with libations like the Doc’s Holiday – aptly named after the famous gambler and gunfighter since the Old Overholt was his drink of choice- that’s made with old overholt rye, gin, lemon sour, egg white, and nutmeg. In addition, they are also whipping up the Winter Cup that blends bulliet rye, frangelico, carpano, angostura and chili chocolate bitters.
