Los Angeles – Last night, K9’s Only presented the Friends of LA Animal Shelters (FLAAS) launch party! Special guest, Maria Menounos, was honored for her outstanding contributions to Los Angeles animals.
Maria arrived with her boyfriend and dog of 12 years, Apollo. She saved him as his previous owner tossed him out of a moving car. Since then, Maria has been donating her time to shelters, and intends to spread the word to stop euthanizing pets.
Dog lover and star of the ‘Hills’, Stephanie Pratt, who has a dog of her own named Charlie, was also on hand to support the cause. It was difficult getting her out of there without a new puppy.
Jamie Kennedy (Malibu’s Most Wanted), Allison Janney (The Help), Ashlan Gorse (E! News), Nikki DeLoach (MTV’s Awkward), Elisabetta Canalis (Dancing with the Stars), Melissa Rycroft (Dancing with the Stars), Beverley Mitchell (The Secret Life of the American Teenager), Taryn Manning (Hawaii Five-O), Galen Gering (Days of Our Lives), and many many more also came out to support FLAAS.
Even though it is all about the animals, you can’t forget about the alcohol…of course. Malibu Rocky Oaks wine kept the guests slightly tipsy throughout the night. The Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyard, in the Santa Monica Mountains of Malibu, was also the wine of choice for Ms. Kim Kardashian’s recent wedding.

It is good to see all this support for the Los Angeles animals who are in shelters. We hope the awareness spreads to promote the fantastic dogs, cats, and other animals who temporarily call these city shelters, home.
