Russell Armstrong, 47, the estranged husband of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Taylor Armstrong was found dead of an apparent suicide at a friend’s house on Mulholland Drive, Monday night. He was found hanging in his bedroom.
Taylor filed for divorce last month, after claims that he physically abused her. Russell was distraught over his divorce and his extreme financial problems, however, Russell’s lawyer, Ronald Richards, said he never saw this coming.
In addition to the couple’s marital and financial problems, they were also in the middle of a lawsuit against them, that claimed bad business deals. The allegations claim that they misled investors in a company called NuWay Digital Systems, in which Russell was the CEO. Nuway held interest in another company, MyMedicalRecords.com (MMR). The Armstrong’s supposedly took the money and invested it in one of Eva Longoria’s restaurants and also redecorated their home. MMR is asking for $1.5 million in the lawsuit. Russell’s attorney, Ronald Richards, previously claimed that the motive behind MMR’s lawsuit is that they’re struggling. Richards says the lawsuit is “groundless” and “a shakedown”.
Russell leaves behind an 11 and 13 year old from a previous marriage, and Kennedy, his 5 yr. old daughter that he had with Taylor.
