Snoop’s Blast by Colt 45

Just leave it to some Attorney General to make a fuss about everything. Incase you haven’t heard, Pabst Brewing Company’s latest creation “Blast by Colt 45” has been hearing it ever since the release of their Snoop Dogg endorsed marketing campaign. Blast has 23.5 oz of liquid goodness with a 12% alcohol content. Available in 4 fruity flavors…Christmas in a cup if you ask me. So…what seems to be the problem here… Ohhh ha thats right, it tastes good…a big NO NO in the alcohol industry I guess. Attorney General Lisa Madigan wrote a letter to the brewing giant urging the company to lower its 12% alcohol content. All i have to say is, don’t do it Pabsty…don’t listen to her. She’s slinging some crazy nonsense. Her argument is that she strongly believes the colorful can and the fruity flavors are a direct link to marketing towards minors…Yeah she’s right…After you turn 21 you do become color blind and loose all your taste buds…She also stated, along with 17 other state attorney generals, that the drink promotes under age binge drinking. The online photo shoot/advertisement is nothing out of the ordinary. As for promoting binge drinking, if anybody wants to reach total inebriation, they’re gonna grab 40 proofs and up and rip shots until the ass crack of dawn. I didn’t see any funnels or any chugging in their campaign what-so-ever. So what’s with all the hot air up their skirts? Is it Snoop “D-O” (Double) “G’s” bounty roll criminal record? Is it the level of alcohol content? Maybe that it’s a crime for alcohol to taste good. I don’t know. Seems to me these people just need to keep busy at their desks. Not to seem preachy, but I think the people in which they serve would much rather have them pay less attention to this and more attention to other issues. Regardless, asking Pabst to change their game plan and marketing strategy on a count of being too appealing is crazy. Next thing you know, they’ll be demanding Vegas to take down the colorful lights. Underage drinking is illegal. There’s nothing more that can be done. You will not be seeing these in vending machines or candy stores, and minors will never stop wanting to do what adults do.  Anywho, cheers!
